Our History

_edited.png

Heeding the call of Pastorate and under the direction of God and the leadership of Bishop James W. Keith, Pastor Fredrick Craig organized the Solid Rock Church on April 19, 2015. Dedicated to the call that God had placed in him, Pastor Craig, Lady Shontel Craig, and many others started out in a small community room in Newport, RI. Although the commute was long and attendance was low, Pastor and Lady Craig as well as the founding members pressed on. Hearing a word from God, Pastor Craig moved the church from Newport, RI to Providence, RI to which Bishop Keith opened the doors of Beloved Tabernacle to Solid Rock Church for our morning services.

During our time on Union Avenue, God continued to bless us. In February of 2017, God laid on Pastor Craig’s heart the need for Solid Rock Church to move to its own sanctuary. We then moved to our previous location of 45 Benedict St. Providence, RI where the Lord made room for expansion of the Ministries of Solid Rock Church. We were able to purchase what is called the “Solid Rock Coach” and establish the Transportation Ministry. The Hospitality Department, Men’s, Women’s, and Youth & Young People’s Ministries, and the SRC Ushers Ministry were developed along with various ministry training sessions and community outreach programs. The foundation has been laid and this is where God will take us into the next level of what He has in store.

As our ministry has continued to grow and flourish in numbers and in power, there was yet another need to relocate. On June 6, 2021, we had out first service in our present location of 182 Sayles Ave. in Pawtucket, RI. This gave room for our “Love Is the Law” podcast, The SRC Streaming Radio Broadcast, Family Fun Night for movies and games and for musicals and plays sponsored by our Creativity in Christ Ministry.

Other ministries and community partnerships developed as the community need grew greater. We’re currently in partnership with the Small Wonders Early Learning Center, Bethany Baptist Church both of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, St. Martin De Pores Dioceses, and the food pantry distribution of the St. Raymond’s Church both of Providence, Rhode Island which are led by our Missionary and Hospitality Departments.

With God’s help and grace, Solid Rock Church will continue to be “A Place of Restoration” and win souls for the Kingdom of God. - Matthew 16:18
